fall // winter 2013

this collection is inspired by textures & patterns found in clothing and in building facades. it is also influenced by architectural writings based on buildings that act as signage -- some of these buildings are designed to be one-sided, creating a billboard or a "wallpaper" effect. applying this idea into clothing, the collection plays with engineered "knit" patterns & "vine wall" prints that are designed to act like surface treatments on a garment. the collection also includes patterns classically used in fashion, such as houndstooth, plaids and checks to create a type of "fashion" wallpaper.

spring // summer 2013

this collection is an homage to the Case Study Houses built in Southern California post-ww2. just like the designs of the CSH, pieces in this collection are based on using modern, clean lines and materials & fabric, produced by taking advantage of today's technology. the famous CSH #22 by Pierre Koenig, (the most photographed house in the world) inspired the Los Angeles skyline print, which was photographed and turned into a print for fabric. spans of glass that signified modernism in the CSH are represented as clear vinyl in unique places such as collars and waistbands.

fall // winter 2012

"fall in the fog city"
last fall, we traveled to Northern California and were inspired by the crisp air, burgundy colored leaves, the rolling in of the fog through the buildings, and of course, the structural beauty of the Golden Gate bridge.

this collection evokes a misty fall in the Bay Area & relaxing afternoons sipping on California wines. details such as rivets, x-bracing, and tension cables are translated into wearable pieces. they are made of fabrics such as wool, quilted cotton, and soft silks. each piece is understated but unique, comfortable and versatile for any occasion.

fall // winter 2011

this collection is my first exploration using materials from architecture in clothing construction. each garment is a play on a classic silhouette, extracting details and reinterpreting iconic elements. the materials used are those typically found in buildings: concrete, wood, metal, latex paint, and tyvek, often used for waterproofing buildings. other fabrics are high quality and made of natural fibers such as wool, silk, and cotton. this introduction of unique materials in wearable garments is my attempt to connect the wearer to their surrounding built environments. similar to the way a building protects inhabitants, these clothes protect wearer from outside elements!
